I suppose this should come as no surprise...

This is an email I sent to my friend Kate last night:
 

I am making pasta with a Bolognese type of a sauce… tomato sauce (canned) browned ground beef, onion, garlic… I thought it needed something for depth and added about 1/4 C of red wine TOTALLY FORGETTING someone else’s child was eating at my house!!! The alcohol has long burned off and this meal will serve 8… but still I feel badly. Sorry! (Of course I don’t think twice when it comes to my own kids!) Whoops!

Your flowers are on the kitchen table and look lovely… with our red wine sauce!
