Stylish Notes on Fashion :: 5 Summer Must Haves

1.

We all want the look of a healthy tan but we know that tans aren't healthy. In the summer I want to bear my face, shoulders, arms and legs and I would prefer not to be ghostly white. This micro mist is as true to a tan color as you can get. It's easy, even spray makes the streaky look a thing from the past. Hands, neck, back, face and toes are all easy to spray. My advice is to stand in front of a full length mirror so that you can see what you're doing. Place a towel underneath you and wait a couple of minutes before getting dressed. I would also suggest not to apply this before going to the gym where you're likely apt to sweat it off and to wait at least an hour before showering. Neutrogena Spray tan comes in 3 tones, light, medium and deep. It may take 2 to 3 coats before you build up to that perfect savage tan. Reapply after 2 - 3 days for maximum results.

2.

We're all more careful about keeping our faces out of the sun. Apply your sunscreen liberally and then use this Guerlain Terracotta powder all over your face to achieve the perfect sun kissed look. I like to moisturise with a rich product beforehand to get that dewy tanned look. I have been using this product for over 20 years. I strayed once and came running back. There are a multitude of tones to choose from. You can still apply blush to your cheekbones in addition to this product.

3.

Summertime tends to make my hair look all limp - especially after workouts and when I don't have the time even for a quick shower. I used to use baby powder on my roots to revitalize my hair for a few hours and to soak up the excess oil, but it made even my blond hair look grey. A dry shampoo will quickly become your best friend. I've tried several and Suave products never fail to please me - save yourself a few pennies here and use them for the next product.

4.

There is nothing else. There is no substitute except for the sea itself. Trust me. I have tried all of them. EVERY single one of them! I've even tried to make this myself when on Pinterest someone claimed to have the perfect homemade version of this. Trust me. It was not perfect. It did not compare! Spray the Surf on to damp or dry hair, at the root and then all over. You can either flip your hair dry, blow it dry or let it do dry on its own. Style as you wish or go for the natural tousled look. This product adds texture that gives normally lifeless hair body and oomph. It is is my raison d'etre in the summertime!

5.

Nail polish. Whatever color you fancy but keep those pretty sandal clad feet painted at all times!

I also have summer must haves that I keep in my car:
Baby powder to clean off sandy feet
An extra bottle of sunscreen
An extra bottle of bug repellant
A beach chair
A spare towel or blanket
Flip flops
A girl must, after all, always be prepared for a last minute trip to the beach!

What are your summer must haves?
