Walk this way...

I decided to bring my camera along yesterday. It did slow me down a bit but it was well worth it! I have so much to look at when I go for my afternoon (or early morning walks).  Much of my route is sheltered by old, large and wonderfully shady trees so even if it is in the 90s at 5:00pm as it was yesterday, there is often a gentle breeze to keep me comfortable as I walk briskly to the music on my iPod. I live for my walks. They re-energize me at the end of the day and help to melt the stress away. I do prefer to walk in the morning though just to get it over and done with... I would much rather pour my fume blanc at 5pm than to lace up my running shoes at that hour!

I often find new streets to turn onto to spice up the routine a bit... I like to walk an average of 40 minutes a day and an hour on the weekends... There is always something spectacular to see. I love the trees. They are so animated... Our neighborhood is filled with dogs, many standard black poodles, that are out greeting me as I pass them by. I saw none yesterday.  I noticed for the first time that the season is slowing changing... Summer is preparing to leave and Fall is starting to mark her debut...

Love this tree... looks like someone carved a snake into it!

The leaves are just starting to turn, reminding us that Summer will soon be departing

And yet the flowers still bloom

Look closely at all the tree shots... can you see old faces?

I simply adore hydrangea. We have a ton in our neighborhood of all sizes, colors and varieties.
I'm quite fond of the white ones...

Pounding the pavement!
I must have hit the button by accident!

These are the most spectacular bushes in the fall.
They are already starting to turn but when they are fully turned
they will all be the most glorious shade of pink!

It's almost apple picking season!

I like to look up at the rooftops too!

Achoo!

Ah... Ah... Ah... Achoooooo!

Pine trees line and cool my way... their scent is amazing!

These pretty little berries remind me of a something I will be drinking when I get home!

More hints of Autumn...

The trees shade me on even the hottest of days!

How I would like to run through that right about now!

Wise old man...

Looks like he's singing the blues...

Berries for the birds and cat tails...

One of many hydrangea trees in my neighborhood

The gatekeeper...

My neighbor's house...

and finally... home sweet home!
